I sent out a note to our subscribers earlier today thinking about the quiet moments before a holiday actually arrives.
You know the ones. The time before the reservations are made or the gifts are wrapped. It’s the reality of how we actually live, compared to the polished version we see in commercials.
Because the truth is, February 14th is often painted in a single shade of pink. But if you really look around, you’ll see that love isn’t one-size-fits-all. It can be messy, quiet, and sometimes it’s the love we give back to ourselves.
This year, we’re excited to celebrate everyone no matter what phases they are in. In fact, if you look across the city right now, you can see three very different stories unfolding.
Amara & Elias
In a museum across town, Amara is checking her watch. She’s spent her life studying the past, but today she’s waiting for Elias, an architect who builds the future. They’ve never met in person, and the air between them is only a possibility.
Yara & Nils
In a much louder house, Yara and Nils are navigating the beautiful, exhausting reality of a decade together. Between the kids and the routine, they are rediscovering that love isn't just a feeling you have, it’s also a space you choose to make for each other when time is short.
Safiya
And finally, Safiya. Whether she’s hosting a dinner for her closest friends or enjoying the silence of her own home, she reminds us that the most beautiful relationship you’ll ever have is the one you cultivate with your own soul.
We want you to know that wherever you find yourself this month, whether you are nervous, exhausted, or happily independent, that there is no "correct" way to celebrate your love.
We’re going to be following these three stories over the next few weeks. We’d love for you to follow along, too.
